Chrome chrysoprase specimen

Matte all around

Cut with the collector in mind, our specimen pieces feature the organic character of the raw stone with one or two feature faces. The cuts which create the featured faces are carefully chosen to not only display a gorgeous facet, but to allow the natural beauty of the raw stone to remain minimally altered. Faces are polished to a matte or soft gloss finish.

Turkish Chrome Chrysoprase is a variety of chalcedony found in Turkey that is colored by chromium compounds. Though most Chrome Chalcedony is now found and mined in Zimbabwe (sold as “Mtorolite”), the rarer Turkish variation- which was widely utilized in jewelry and seals throughout the Roman Empire- is still found and mined in some limited areas of Turkey.
