Cut with the collector in mind, our specimen pieces feature the organic character of the raw stone with one or two feature faces.  The cuts which create the featured faces are carefully chosen to not only display a gorgeous facet, but to allow the natural beauty of the raw stone to remain minimally altered.  Faces are polished to a matte or soft gloss finish.

Turkiyenite Lavender Jade (Turkish Purple Jade) is a very rare, unique, mystical and mythical purple-colored gem material exclusively found in the Bursa region of western Turkey. Turkish Purple Jade is extremely difficult to source, as the only know location for it in the world is a small deposit found in the 1980s- which was subsequently mined and depleted to exhaustion by the 1990s. A lot of money was later spent exploring and surveying the area for more, however none was found. The only known remaining pieces of the gem material are old-stock pieces held by museums and private collectors.

“Turkiyenite” refers to a metamorphic rock and not a single mineral species- consisting mainly of jadeite (between 40% to 60%) and quartz, orthoclase, epidote, chloritoid, and phlogopite. Turkish purple jade has a unique quality called “photoluminescence,” meaning the stone’s color shifts to different shades depending on the light source.
